“ZEP Social Action Research Trust”, also known as “ZEPSART”, has been registered as non-profit organization in 1996 by Mr. Sandeep Joshi. The other promoters have background in social work, medicine, education & rural development.
We have a mandate to promote and strengthen social initiatives for improving the quality of life of the deprived and disadvantaged. We have a series of activities that are offered concentrating on social development in major fields of education, health, environment, women empowerment, environment, village development, etc.
Serve since 1996 to the society
The first program of ZEPSART was held in Thane, Mumbai. in which children from poor educational background & very young ages were introduced to studies through fun activities, this program proved to be a stepping stone. Since 1996, ZEPSART extended their work to urban areas in Mumbai and also to the most backward areas and underdeveloped regions in Maharashtra.
Many activities were conducted by ZEP SART during the long journey. Few are as follows.
An innovative ‘Abhiruchi’ program was started in the 1989-90. Mahatma Phule Shikshan Hami Yogana at 16 places of Thane municipal & Navi Mumbai Mahanagarpalika areas. Thru this programe, 350 students enrolled in main stream of education system. In 2008-16 ‘Parivartan Project’, “Study skills development’ programmes ware conducted at secondary schools in Thane, Jalgaon, Mumbai, Palghar. We have covered 57 schools from Thane, Palghar and Jalgaon area reaching almost 45000 students so far.
ZEPSART conducted HB counting, blood group checking, eye checkup, health awareness camps and adolescent children awareness for the students from tribal areas & needy communities under school and community health camps.
Under women empowerment we conducted entrepreneurship development, training and monitoring of self-help groups from Thane, Palghar, Shahapur and Nasik area. Member of ZEPSART always participated as resource persons in various training programme conducted by various Centre and State government agencies.
ZEPSART has been provided training to the farmers on various types of crops, flowers and vegetable cultivation with a view to improve their earning for better livelihood. Educational tours were conducted at Kosbad krushi Kendra and Kokan krushi Vidyapith for tribal farmers. This project covers 110 farmers from 5 tribal villages in Palghar area.
ZEPSART’s projects have been awarded by local and state authorities like Dept. of Social forest, Thane Rotary midtown, Akashwani, etc.
We have always run projects not only concerning specific heads but many aspects that were and are the need of the hour.
